“Thoroughly authentic Russian quality in both tone and phrasing”
– Seen and Heard International
Contralto Christine Jasper has been described as of “thoroughly authentic Russian quality in both tone and phrasing” by ‘Seen and Heard International’ for her Alto Solo in the London Symphony Chorus’ Rachmaninoff Vespers.
Her unusual timbre and rich dark voice have led her to increasingly explore and perform main repertoire of her Fach such as Wagner‘s ‘Erda’ on the operatic stage or Elgar’s ‘Sea Pictures’ in Lied repertoire.
Christine moved to Jersey from her former hometown, London, during the pandemic. She continues her singing activities on and off the island, and has set up ‘Moments Musicaux Jersey’, bringing together internationally acclaimed musicians and a Jersey audience for an intimate concert dialogue on one of the most beautiful islands in Europe.
Visit ‘Moments Musicaux Jersey’, now running in its third year, to learn more about upcoming concerts and projects.
